A winner of a Platinum Medal at 2020’s Kura Master (a French sake competition, judged by a panel of French sake and wine sommeliers with the mission to find sakes suitable to be paired with French – and other Western – foods).
Red Fuji Junmai Ginjo is neatly packaged in a 180ml ‘cup’ format; ideal for picnics, grab-and-go or just to enjoy without having to commit to opening a larger bottle.
Aromas of fresh apple, pear, creamy banana, lemon peel with some bread/yeast back-notes. The palate is surprisingly richer than the aroma would suggest: oily, round, smooth and medium-bodied. Slightly sweet with creamy apple, banana, raison, grapefruit and rice flavours.
Red Fuji is very enjoyable by itself but also big enough to stand up to richer foods like BBQ, mature cheeses, sweet & sticky sauces, curries, stews and steak.
Mt. Fuji, the symbol of Konishi Brewing, appears as “Red Fuji” under extremely rare weather conditions during the sunrise from late summer to early autumn. Since ancient times, it has been said that the view of “Red Fuji” is especially auspicious. The label image is from Hoksuai’s famous “36 View of Mt Fuji”.
Ingredients: water, rice, koji, yeast
