Kura Master 2020 Gold & IWC 2017 Silver
Shirayuki Banzaimon is winner of a Gold Medal at 2020’s Kura Master. Kura Master is a relatively new sake competition judged by a French panel of sake and wine sommeliers with the mission to find sakes suitable to be paired with French – and other Western – foods.
Shirayuki Banzaimon is one of the flagship, premium sake releases from Konishi Shuzo polished to 35% and using locally grown Yamada Nishiki rice.
A vibrant, luscious and full nose of fresh pineapple, melon, sweet pear & green apple aromas is what greats the drinker. A velvety, rich & smooth palate with medium-full body offers ripe and juicy fruit flavours supported by good acidity and umami.
Shirayuki Banzaimon is a bright and full sake with a solid backbone of rice and umami – good for food pairing.
Recommended enjoyed chilled with oily, fatty or rich fish; Indian curry; grilled meats; sausages and creamy sauces.
